Jakarta, SenayanTalks – Roblox, the global online gaming platform, has officially launched “Roblox Moments”, a short-form video feed designed to let players easily capture and share gameplay clips. The new feature, announced at the Roblox Developers Conference 2025, highlights the company’s efforts to expand social engagement, empower creators, and boost monetization opportunities.
The new Roblox Moments feed allows players aged 13 and above to record and share gameplay highlights of up to 30 seconds. Users can trim clips, add music, write captions, and publish them directly to the community feed.
Through the feed, players can browse community videos, react with emojis, and even jump straight into the experiences featured in the clips—creating a more interactive and immersive discovery tool.
Roblox also announced upcoming API-based tools that will allow developers to integrate video creation and discovery directly into their games. These tools could be used to showcase trending clips, highlight top gameplay moments, or even create leaderboards such as “Best Racing Overtakes.”
The API rollout, expected later this year, is designed to give developers more flexibility to engage players and amplify visibility for their games.
Boosting creator earnings
In addition to the video updates, Roblox revealed improvements to its Developer Exchange (DevEx) program. The payout rate has increased by 8.5%, with 100,000 Robux now valued at $380 USD—up from the previous $350.
This move reflects Roblox’s commitment to strengthening its creator economy. The platform highlighted that the top 1,000 developers have nearly tripled their earnings since 2020, with some approaching the $1 million milestone.
By combining short-form video sharing, AI-powered creative tools, and higher monetization rates, Roblox is positioning itself as not only a gaming hub but also a powerful social platform for content discovery and community engagement.
Industry analysts note that the move aligns Roblox with broader digital trends, where short-form video and creator-led economies dominate platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
