Jakarta, SenayanTalks – Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its first-ever foldable smartphone, the iPhone Fold, expected to arrive in 2026. If the leaks are accurate, this device could mark the most significant leap for Apple’s iPhone lineup since the original model debuted in 2007.
According to TechRadar, the iPhone Fold is rumored to feature a truly all-screen design with no notch or punch hole. A new 24MP under-display front camera will replace the traditional notch, while Touch ID on the power button may return, as there is limited space for Apple’s Face ID system in a foldable design.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the iPhone Fold will carry a 7.8-inch main display when unfolded and a 5.5-inch outer screen for quick interactions. Apple is reportedly working on a crease-free folding technology, tackling a long-standing challenge faced by foldable devices.
In terms of size, the iPhone Fold is expected to be incredibly slim—4.5mm when unfolded and around 9mm when folded—making it one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market.
Apple is rumored to use titanium or titanium alloy for the hinge and casing to ensure durability without sacrificing a premium feel. The rear camera system may include dual 48MP sensors, while front cameras will be available in both folded and unfolded modes, offering flexibility for photography and video calls.
As reported by MacRumors, the iPhone Fold will likely be powered by Apple’s next-generation processor (possibly the A19 or newer) and supported by an advanced vapor chamber cooling system to handle demanding tasks like gaming or 4K video recording.
Tom’s Guide notes that the iPhone Fold could debut with a price tag between USD 1,800 and USD 2,300 (around IDR 28–36 million). Apple reportedly plans to produce 8–10 million units in 2026, with output projected to reach 20–25 million units by 2027, reflecting its confidence in consumer demand.
“Apple doesn’t just want to follow the foldable trend—it aims to set a new standard. If these rumors are true, the iPhone Fold could be a game changer in the global smartphone market,” said analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, quoted by 9to5Mac.
With a sleek design, crease-free display, titanium build, and premium hardware, the iPhone Fold is shaping up to be a serious competitor to foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Huawei Mate X. While Apple has yet to confirm any details, anticipation for the iPhone Fold continues to grow, making it one of the most highly awaited smartphone releases of the coming years.
